Penampilan netbook ini terlihat sedikit berbeda dengan Aspire One generasi sebelumnya. Aspire One 532 terlihat lebih modern dan luwes, tidak sekaku kakak-kakaknya tersebut. Material yang digunakan juga terlihat lebih berkelas berkat permukaan glossy yang membungkus sisi luarnya. Sayangnya permukaan glossy tersebut cenderung menjadi magnet bagi sidik jari, sehingga Anda sepertinya harus membawa lap agar tidak terlihat kotor.

Selain desain keseluruhan , desain keyboard AO532 juga tampil beda. Netbook ini menggunakan desain dengan permukaan yang rata dengan sedikit jarak antar tombol. Acer juga “menghabiskan” area di kiri dan kanan keyboard, sehingga keyboard terasa lebih luas. Sayangnya, desain tersebut tidak mampu memberikan rasa yang memuaskan; setidaknya tidak sebaik MSI Wind U135.

Jarak antar tombol yang yang terasa membuat kami sering salah ketik, sehingga agak sulit menembus kecepatan ketik standar kami. Untungnya di sisi touchpad, penggunaanya lebih nyaman. Selain responsif, areanya juga cukup besar (sekitar 6,5x3,3 cm). Touchpad ini juga mendukung multi-touch, sehingga Anda bisa melakukan zoom-in dengan melakukan gerakan mencubit.

Netbook berbobot 1,2 kg ini menyediakan baterai 6 cell berkapasitas 5200mAh; atau lebih tinggi dibanding MSI Wind U135 (4400 mAh). Inilah yang menjelaskan mengapa netbook ini bertahan lebih lama pada pengujian mode baterai. Saat memutar video HD, netbook ini berhasil menempuh waktu nyaris 4 jam. Sementara pada pengujian Battery Eater mode Classic (yaitu memutar animasi 3D), netbook ini bisa mencatat 4,5 jam. Dengan catatan waktu tersebut, Aspire One 532 ini adalah netbook dengan catatan waktu paling lama yang pernah kami uji.

Acer Aspire One 432 merupakan netbook yang penuh kejutan. Selain karena berhasil menjadi yang pertama, skema harga yang begitu agresif membuatnya begitu atraktif; bahkan jika dibanding netbook generasi sebelumnya. Beberapa kekurangan memang mengemuka, namun netbook ini tetap layak dianugerahi netbook terbaik saat ini.
